An ideal day trip for hiking, fishing, picnicking or just to enjoy the pleasant view of the falls, the woods and the old structures. Georgia State Parks web page, explains that in the early 1800's this was a prosperous industrial town, however it became a ghost town in the 1880's when a major railroad bypassed it.
From Atlanta, High Falls State Park is aproximately 40 minutes south of Atlanta right off interstate 75.
