This is a one of a kind brick Colonial custom home completed in 2006 by Builder and Craftsman Tim Nielsen (Highland Design Team) and his wife, interior designer, Kim Nielsen for their own family residence.
The couple wanted an "old home feel." They accomplished this by using reclaimed bricks for the walkway, porch, backyard patio, kitchen back splash and office fireplace. They used reclaimed doors and hardware with vintage crystal glass knobs throughout that were hand refurbished and stained.
There are 100 year old French doors and sidelights leading into the formal dining room and office. It was important to the owners that they have an old front door as well. The Jack-n-Jill has mosaic hexagon tiles. The built-in china cabinet is meant to replicate an antique piece of furniture as well as the cabinetry in the master bathroom.
For the exterior of the house, the corbels were all handmade. All of these things give the house charm and character. This house is new, but it's a house with integrity and rich with appropriate details, which tie together a twenty-first-century family to live in what looks like an old historic home.
Exterior - All brick. Hand-made corbels above the dental moulding make up the cornice. Fluted columns. Intricate balustrades. Gas lanterns flank the reclaimed/refurbished front door.
Front Porch - With reclaimed brick pavers.
Exterior/ Back - Patio made form reclaimed bricks, patio speakers, sodded, level backyard.
2 Car Detached Garage - Custom carriage door and keypad with side door. A cupola stands at the top.
Foyer and Front Office- 100 year old reclaimed/refurbished French doors and sidelights. Reclaimed bricks make up the fireplace.

Reclaimed bricks make up the back splash. The stained armoire looking piece is the refrigerator and pantry together. Ample amount of storage space. 5' x 7' island seats 5. Built-in cabinet is meant to replicate an antique piece of furniture with its curves and hardware.
Doors- Reclaimed/refurbished doors throughout with original brass hardware and crystal door knobs. These doors are all stained.

Playroom or Sun Room- Beautiful casement windows with transoms above on 2 of the walls leading out to the backyard. The french doors and transom above are reclaimed/ refurbished and the hand-carved mouldings on either side were from a brownstone in Philadelphia.
Master Suite- Luxurious master suite with restored vintage claw foot tub with lion feet, bronze plumbing fixtures, maple cabinetry, plenty of storage, his/her own lavatories, his/her own custom walk-in closets, limestone tile, speakers.

Basement level Bathroom- Large bathroom with walk-in shower, slate covers the floor and walls, the sink has a concrete top and an iron base. The "man room" in the basement has a stained floor with dark trim and windows for a cozy feel.
